About Our Vintage & Mid-Century Art Collection
Metro Retro Furniture’s art collection features nearly 500 original paintings, lithographs, screen prints, and wall sculptures from the mid-20th century. Ranging from abstract expressionist oils and hard-edge geometric prints to brutalist metal wall sculptures (in the style of Curtis Jere), our art inventory is sourced specifically to complement mid-century interiors.
What to Look for in Mid-Century Art
• Original framing: Many pieces in our collection retain their original period framing—often floating wood frames or aluminum galleries—which preserves the aesthetic intent of the era.
• Signatures and numbering: For lithographs and prints, look for pencil signatures and edition numbers in the lower margins.
• Condition: We evaluate canvases for tension and paint stability, and works on paper for foxing or sun fading, ensuring you know exactly what you are acquiring.
